Guard Looped, made of white hardened iron and chiseled only on the front. The grip formed by two flat and curved quillons in opposite directions, in the center, a small shield shaped point, from where the knuckle guard and two extensions with two half shells at the cross-section and a bridge at the top emerge. Elliptical pommel with a knob and decorated like the rest of the weapon. Tapered wooden grip covered with tightly twisted silver wire and two ferrules at the Turkish head. Cross-guard with a wide hollow and marked with Hernández “el Viejo”.
Blade Straight, in the strong third, with a hollow and the armorer’s name. The rest with three flat areas and a double edge up to the tip.
Inscription SEBASTIAN HERNANDEZ; Rodríguez del Canto and Palomares attribute the mark that this sword bears engraved on the cross-guard to Sebastián Hernández “el Viejo”.
Pommel Simple in ovoid shape and very similar to number 54 from Norman’s book which was used between 1530 and 1580.
