Period 17th century
Guard Well-defined cup hilt with long quillons. Spherical pommel with a small flat button. Tapered wooden grip with vertical reinforcements and smooth ring ferrules at both ends. Guard ring in a marked circular arc. Scabbard tip, prism-shaped recess, and smooth point-breaking edge around the entire upper perimeter of the cup.
Blade Straight, long, narrow, with a central fuller in the first third, edges on both sides, lightweight, and easy to handle.
Inscription IN TOLEDO. Some armorers from the time of the Habsburgs signed their work only with the inscription: “IN TOLEDO” OR “VALENCIA”.
