Guard | Completely gilded brass. Flattened and punched base plate, short cylindrical knuckle-bow, ring that fits into the grip-knob piece, grip with marked fluting and shield with monogram “PU” under a royal crown. |
Blade | Flat spine on the inside, long hollow, cutting edge on the outside, blade with two flat sides and two edges with a central ridge (eel spine). |
Scabbard | Leather with gilded brass fittings. |

Description | Saber used by the Urban Police of Madrid. This guard was renamed “Veteran Civil Guard” in 1859, becoming part of the Civil Guard with a similar saber but with the initials “GC”. |
