Grip | Brass, with a guard in the shape of a ring and three quillons forming a low-positioned “S”. Curved knuckle-bow facing the blade. Short pommel with an oval cap and a profile decorated with laurel leaves. Grooved grip, also brass, with a central oval featuring the monogram of the Provincial Militias, “PS”. |
Blade | Straight, with a hollow in the first two-thirds and a flat spine. It features an edge along its entire length and on the inside of the blade. |
SCABBARD | Metallic with two clamps and corresponding rings. |

Description | The Urban or Provincial Militia was created in 1834. Swords with the same type of grip have various insignias “MN”, “PS”, “GP”, “GRP”, etc. It is worth noting that the presented weapon incorporates a blade that is somewhat older, of straight architecture, which belonged, in 1817, to the Royal Walloon Guards as indicated on the spine. |
