Name Officer’s Saber of the Marine Infantry Corps model 1857
Hilt Composed of a pierced and closed cup guard with knuckle bow, made of gilded brass, and on the front, two crossed anchors beneath a royal crown in silver. Pommel with a continuous cord formed by a Triton’s head and its back. Twisted quillon also gilded. Grip covered with black sharkskin and wired with plain copper wire.
Blade Classic Navy style, with a corded back, cutting edge on the outside, and carp’s tongue tip.
Scabbard Black patent leather, two suspension rings with mounts, all also in gilded brass.
Inscription MARINA ESPAÑOLA ARTA FABRICA DE TOLEDO 1858
Model Regulation saber model for chiefs, officers, and cadets of the Marine Infantry Corps, according to Royal Order dated December 4, 1857.
