Guard Made of smooth, polished iron, Prussian style, full cup guard with wide rim and tongue-shaped quillon bent toward the blade in an effective countercurve. Long knuckle bow with rounded top, ferrule, and grip covered in rough leather with 26 twisted wire spirals. Without a ring for the sword knot.
Blade Narrow, with low volume matching the guard, back on the first two thirds and edge inside to the tip, with a continuous edge running the entire outside on a narrow flat. On the ricasso, the emblem of the General Staff Corps.
Scabbard Iron, with a single suspension ring and band. Symmetrical chape.
Inscription ARTILLERY TOLEDO FACTORY, General Staff Emblem, Regulation saber for General Staff according to Royal Order of December 30, 1884.
Description This is the foot officers’ saber that starts the series featuring the Prussian-style cup guard, noted for its simplicity and light weight.
