Scabbard | Black leather, with a gilt brass throat and chape. Smooth oval button for suspension on the belt. |

Description | This is a robust weapon that at the time seemed very suitable for the artillery purpose to which it was dedicated. Its design, derived from French machetes of the same era, suggests that it was still unclear what type of weapon to provide to the artillery troops. |
