Name Cup Hilt Sword
Era 17th Century
Grip Made of iron, with long straight and twisted quillons ending in a pommel, with ears that attach to the bottom of the cup. Also twisted crossguard, beautifully pierced shell with circular rosettes and a point-breaking edge. Wooden grip wrapped with wire and pommel with a knop and designs of foliage and animals.
Blade Straight and narrow, double-edged, with a fuller in the strong third and two edges throughout.
Inscription ANTONIO EN TOLEDO. To, under a crown, on the ricasso.

Description This could represent a combination of Italian hilt and Spanish blade. The pierced and chiseled work based on successive circular rosettes is present in more than one example from the 17th century.
