Mounting | Overgilded brass, with a classic simple cross design formed by two horizontal quillons, beautifully chiseled. Obverse with two crossed anchors under a royal crown and reverse with the coat of arms of Spain. Pommel with three lobes featuring the cipher of Alfonso XIII and military trophies. Dark turned wood grip wired with copper thread. Lower ferrule decorated with grooves. |
Blade | Straight, with a ricasso, two ridges on the first third, and two edges with three facets on the remainder. |
Scabbard | Black leather with gilded brass throat and chape. |

Description | Waist shortsword for chiefs and officers of the Marine Infantry Corps according to the Royal Order of July 12, 1902. Usage extended to Corps musicians in 1910. Usage discontinued in 1928. |
