Name Waist sword, Civil Guard Officer, model 1844, 1931 variant
Hilt Gilt brass, with a crossguard of two flat quillons decorated with the Arms of Spain beneath a mural crown between oak and laurel branches, initials “GC”, pommel with military triumphs, ferrule, knuckle bow and grip in ebony wood wrapped with golden metal wire.
Blade Straight, almost foil-like, with ridges on the first third and three flat sections double-edged on the rest.
Scabbard Black leather with gilt brass throat and chape. Human head on the sword belt button.
Inscription ARTA FABA DE TOLEDO
Period Manufactured after the First Republic, 1873-74. Belongs to the Second Republic, circa 1931.
