Period Circa 1872
Guard Brass guard. Long monture with slight hood and basic dish from which two quillons and a ring emerge on one side, and a circular chiseled knop on the other. Monogram of Carlos VII “C7” intertwined within a shield, under a royal crown and surrounded by flags. Gallonized wooden grip, covered in sandpaper, wired and fitted into a base crossguard.
Blade Curved, with hollow grind, spine facing inward and full edge outward. Blade with lenticular section.
Scabbard Iron, with two mounts and the corresponding rings.
Inscription Coulaux Cie Klingenthal
Description Elegant cavalry saber used in the Third Carlist War by some officers of the pretender Carlos VII. Manufactured in France, with a guard in the Spanish style, but with a blade that follows the standards of the Klingenthal factory weapons.
