Mounting | Designed with the same concept as the 1895 saber for troops of mounted institutes, differing in weight and dimensions, pattern of the guard and fastening of wooden grips held by two pins. Emblem of the Colonial Guard “G C” on the guard cup. |
Blade | Gentle curve, broad ricasso, edge running along the outside and square back on the first two thirds, narrow edge on the last third on the inside, successively forming one and two flats. Fullers beside the back on the central third. |
Scabbard | Iron, with broad throat, one band with two rings of different sizes and a chape formed by two uneven ridges. |
Inscription | ARTILLERIA FABRICA DE TOLEDO. Coat of Arms of Spain. |
Description | Saber used in Africa by the Colonial Guard of the Civil Guard. The initials “G C” are specific to the Colonial Guard, with a different design than the Civil Guard. Rare and hard to find saber. |
