Guard | Very notable and large guard made of gilded brass. Pommel with the bust of young queen Isabel II and grip made of wood with large galloons. Three quillons, guard plate with a quillon turned inward and a wide ring turned outward. At the front of the quillons, a large shield with the Arms of Spain among wreaths of palm. |
Blade | Long and straight, very Spanish, with a robust ricasso and three fullers up to the tip with two edges. |
Sheath | Made of iron, with two clamps and corresponding rings. Very open mouth held by two screws. |
Inscription | Long live Isabel II |
Description | Weapon at will, very similar to the sword of a mounted officer of the Queen’s Royal Guard. Queen Isabel II, daughter of Ferdinand VII, was crowned at the age of only three, on September 29, 1833. This sword must have belonged to a follower of the queen. |
