Name Officer’s sword, model 1879
Hilt Morphologically, cast in a single piece of brass, with 28 galloons on the grip and a full monterilla simulation. Ring and knuckle bow topped with a ball.
Blade Slightly curved. Rounded spine inward up to the forte with a sharpened edge. Outside, a short rounded spine and a sharpened edge up to the tip. Very slight hollows on the surface of the blade.
Sheath Leather, with a brass mouthpiece and tip.

Historical Description This sword corresponds to the infantry troop model 1818.
