Guard | Similar to the infantry officer’s saber model 1887, Prussian cup, long knuckle bow, grip covered in sharkskin with twisted wire, lug for the sword knot, checkered raised section at the base of the knuckle bow. |
Blade | Slightly curved, with a ricasso, back edge along the first half, cutting edge along the rest, since the outer edge is fully sharpened up to the tip, stamped with a blind mark. |
Scabbard | Metallic, nickel-plated, with one fitting and its corresponding ring. |
Inscription | FABCA DE TOLEDO 1897. Standard saber for Engineers officer according to the Uniform Regulations of the Royal Order of November 29, 1890. |
Distinctive Features | Rectangular projection at the base of the knuckle bow to position the officer’s thumb. |
