| Guard | Turkish style or swan-neck, meticulously crafted, with mother-of-pearl or ivory grips. On the guard, a looped protrusion, chiselled and gilded. Presence of a buttonhole for the sword knot and a ferrule at the base. Crossbar with straight quillons ending in lion’s head, in the center the Spanish coat of arms with mural crown, and no space for fleurs-de-lis between the quarters. On the reverse side, the insignia of a General, consisting of a baton over a sword. |
| Blade | Curved, flat, with an outer edge, profusely engraved and gilded up to almost half its length. |
| Scabbard | Nickel-plated iron, with one clasp and its corresponding ring. |
