Mounting | Entirely made of gilded brass and chiseled with beautiful decorative motifs. Unique pommel shaped like an arrowhead. Solid and round grip with two simulated ferrules that help to hold the weapon. The crossguard has no quillons, and at the bottom, it features small shields as guides for the scabbard. |
Blade | Curved with a ricasso, the rest double-edged with wide fullers and a cutting edge on both sides up to the tip. Used like a sickle, drawing the arm inward to wound. |
Scabbard | Completely metal, richly chiseled and decorated just like the mounting. In the first third, it has two protrusions each with a ring. |
Inscription | FCA TOLEDO. Gumía for the Moroccan Riflemen Company of the Guard of H.E. the Head of State and Generalissimo of the Armies, according to the Order of April 29, 1940. It reads: “FOR DRESS UNIFORM. GUMÍA.- To be suspended by a cord similar to that of the side pouch.” (Braided blue silk cord) |
