Scabbard | Leather, with silver throat and tip. Suspension button for baldric. |
Inscription | Silversmith mark from the 18th century on the handguard and on a quillon. |
Description | This sword, from the time of Charles III, is the oldest known for an officer of Halberdiers. The Halberdiers of the Royal Guard began using swords with a bucket-shaped guard starting from this reign. Similar in the book “Spanish Military Weapons in Colonial America 1700-1821”. |
