Name Official Infantry Saber model 1887
Guard Nickel-plated iron, closed cup guard, long knuckle bow, ferrule, wooden grip covered with sharkskin and wired with copper cord, slot for sword knot, no emblems or decorations.
Blade Slightly curved, with ridges on the outer edge in the first third and cutting edge on the other two thirds up to the tip, inner spine slightly longer, sequence of flat facets: one, two, three, and two.
Scabbard Nickel-plated, with two fittings and rings.
Inscription ARTA FABA DE TOLEDO 1889
Description Charming, lightweight saber with a unique design, widely used and appreciated, though ineffective in combat due to its lightness and fragility. Preference was given to Cuban machetes or Prussian sabers overseas.
