Hilt | Made of brass, consisting of a long knuckle bow, guard ring, two quillons, and a cup guard at the center, which features the Spanish coat of arms topped with a royal crown and two flags on each side as a guard. Grooved ferrule and wooden grip covered with sandpaper and wire wrapping. On the reverse side, a hinge or folding ear to facilitate carrying. |
Blade | Slightly curved. On the outside, in its first third, rounded spine and groove. On the inside, an identical spine and groove along the first and second thirds. The remainder of the blade has edges up to the tip. Flat faces with engravings. |
Scabbard | Black leather with a golden metal chape and throat, featuring a small Spanish coat of arms button. Officers for mounted duties will use a steel scabbard with two rings. |
