Name Espadín
Period Circa 1903
Guard Gilded brass, in Elizabethan design. Simple cross formed by two horizontally aligned finely chiseled quillons. In the central polygon, an emblem. Prominent pommel. Three-lobed pommel featuring the emblem of firefighters, a pick, a spade, a hose, and a helmet with a crest. Ebony grip with cords and wiring with a twisted copper thread plus two smooth threads. Wide lower guard decorated, and a narrower one at the top.
Blade Straight, with a wide ricasso and two edges at three facets on the remainder.

Description This espadín appears in the Catalog of the National Factory of Toledo from 1910. In plate 13, figure 74, where it is referred to as: Firefighters’ Sword.
