Name Light Cavalry Troop Model 1825
Guard Robust gilded brass, composed of a ring and three S-shaped branches stemming from the base plate. Continuous knuckle guard with cap and plain ferrule. Wooden grip covered in leather, with copper thread wire and smooth brass wire twisted into nearly twenty turns. Quillon in tongue shape, marked “Ybarzábal”.
Blade Curved, with a ricasso and broadening towards the tip. Flat spine on the inner side with inscription along the first two thirds, and edged outer side extending to the tip, which contains a short back edge. Similar structure to the 1815 model.
Scabbard Very sturdy, made of iron, with throat, two bands, and suspension rings.
Inscription Royal Factory of Toledo Year 1929, Ybarzanbal (on the quillon).
