Hilt | Brass, with ring, three hawks, rapier-style crossguard, pommel and collar with “Ybarzábal” punch. Wooden grip, grooved, covered with leather and wired with brass wire. |
Blade | Curved, with broad taper to the guard, in the first two thirds the back is inward, and the edge outward to the guard which also has a short false edge. |
Scabbard | Iron, with two mounts and corresponding rings. Powerful throat. |

Description | First cavalry saber approved by King Fernando VII after the War of Independence. It was used, and perhaps manufactured, until the 1840s-50s. |
