Hilt | Made of gilt brass, grip imitating galloons, smooth sides, lower ferrule shaped like an inverted cup, straight quillons, finials in little spheres and rectangular knuckle guard, bright pommel bomb in a circular shape. |
Blade | Straight, with a ricasso, spine on the inside and edge on the flat outside. |
Scabbard | Leather, with gilt brass mouthpiece and chape, Spanish arms on the suspension button. |

Description | The 1860 model machete for Artillery musicians, used also in Infantry, Navy, and other units, extended to all Army musicians by Royal Order of 04-12-1879. It was in service from 1860 to 1908, when it was declared obsolete. |
