Model	Machete model 1879
Hilt	Made of gilt brass, grip imitating galloons, smooth sides, lower ferrule shaped like an inverted cup, straight quillons, finials in little spheres and rectangular knuckle guard, bright pommel bomb in a circular shape.
Blade	Straight, with a ricasso, spine on the inside and edge on the flat outside.
Scabbard	Leather, with gilt brass mouthpiece and chape, Spanish arms on the suspension button.
Inscription	ARTILLERIA FCA DE TOLEDO
Description	The 1860 model machete for Artillery musicians, used also in Infantry, Navy, and other units, extended to all Army musicians by Royal Order of 04-12-1879. It was in service from 1860 to 1908, when it was declared obsolete.
