Hilt | Twin sister guard of the Puerto Seguro saber-sword for Cavalry Troops, model 1907-18, blued with Army emblem under imperial crown. Made of steel with large cup guard, pommel, grip, wooden handle scales, tang and upper screw. |
Blade | Puerto Seguro model, straight, with ricasso, rigid, square back on the inner side and cutting edge on the outer side. Flat hollow grind on each face. |
Scabbard | Blued, with small mouthpiece, ring-mounted band, suspension loops and symmetrical chape. |

Regulation | The Uniform Regulation of January 27, 1943 defines the saber as straight type, with large, closed, and blued cup guard bearing the Army emblem. This is the only 1943 piece called “SABER-SWORD,” which is a copy of the 1907-18 Cavalry model. |
