Guard | Gold-plated brass, closed cup, ring, cylindrical quillon, pommel with eagle head, white plastic grip with braid and copper wire twist. |
Blade | Puerto Seguro model, straight, with ricasso, flat back on the inside, edge on the outside, fullers and a groove on the last third of the back. |
Scabbard | Nickel-plated iron with clasp and ring. |
Inscription | F N T under imperial crown |
Decree | November 15, 1946: “Sable. For generals, chiefs and officers, it shall be straight Puerto Seguro type.” |
Usage | Daily and ceremonial in Air Force formations. |
Ceremonial sword knot | Cord woven with gold thread ending in a tassel. |
Daily sword knot | Black silk. |
Sword straps | Gold braid for ceremony and leather harness for daily use. |
