Hilt | Composed of a pierced and closed cup guard with knucklebow, made of gilded brass, and on the front, an anchor over two crossed cannons under a royal crown in silver. Pommel with continuous cord formed by a triton’s head and its back. Twisted quillon also gilded. Grip covered with black sharkskin and wrapped with smooth copper wire. |
Blade | Classic in the Navy, with corded back, edge outward, and a carp’s tongue-shaped tip. |
Scabbard | Black patent leather with two bands, each with a ring, and a chape, all in gilded brass as well. This saber would hang, for daily use, from a black patent leather belt with braces and a gilded metal plate showing two crossed cannons over an anchor and crown, all in silver. |
