Hilt | Very notable and large gilt brass hilt, with three quillons, guard plate with skirt bent inward and wide ring outward. Long pommel with hemispherical dome and crafted circular cord. Grip with fourteen tight rings, covered with sharkskin and tightly wired with double twisted wire of different thicknesses. On the front of the guards, a large shield with the arms of Spain between palms and flags. |
Blade | Curved, robust and wide, with flat back on its two thirds and edge on the rest on the inside. Edge from the ricasso to the tip on the outside. Large fuller extending up to the ricasso. Decorated with leaves and trophies. |
Scabbard | Iron, with two bands, two rings and good internal ribbing. Short chape. |
Inscriptions | L. BORETI (Industrial sword maker of the Fernandine era) on the skirt. S & K (Schnitzler & Kirschbaum of Solingen) on the blade. |
