Name Official Cavalry Sabre, Model 1878
Hilt Brushed steel with Prussian type, complete and closed cup guard with a tongue lock, extended pommel with rounded cap and lugs, decorated with acid etching featuring the Spanish shield under the royal crown.
Blade Curved with a fuller, exterior edge, rounded spine in the first two-thirds, with a narrow inner edge in the last third, smooth bevel from the fuller to the hilt.
Scabbard Made of iron, with two bands and rings, mouthpiece and toggle with flanges.
Inscription ARTILLERY FACTORY OF TOLEDO 1878
