Hilt Brass structure with slightly converging sides towards the base. Crossguard with quillons bent in opposite directions. Polished horn grips, without finger grooves.
Blade Straight and flat, without ricasso, grooves, or fullers. Flat spine. Classic Cuban blade abruptly ending diagonally, forming the tip as an extension of the spine.
Sheath Brown leather, without throat or chape, possibly lost due to use, but with leather lining incorporated.
Inscription COLLINS & CO HARTFORD. FINE STEEL. GUARANTEED QUALITY No. 87
Description Simple specimen, whose use would be rather discretionary due to the lack of properly regulated machetes for all Arms and Services.
