Fittings Hand-and-a-half or bastard hilt, black varnished iron cross, pear-shaped pommel, cord-wrapped grip covered in black leather, quillons with two inclined guards and two protective bridges.
Blade Straight, wide and flat, with a single groove to the middle and two small ones at the ricasso, double-edged with a clipped point.

Description Sword attributed to D. Gonzalo Fernández de Córdoba, the Great Captain. Designed for combat, it was not a parrying sword and was carried suspended from the belt or in the saddle’s pommel.
