| Guard | Completely made of gilded brass, with double shell, initials “PS” between palm leaves under a royal crown, rounded arch with floral decoration, grip in a twisted form with a central oval featuring a fleur-de-lis under a royal crown, pommel in helm shape with a plume facing the arch, short chiseled guard. |

| Description | The Provincial Militias, composed of townsfolk with little military training, made a name for themselves on two occasions: the War of Independence and the First Carlist War. Some distinguished groups were part of the so-called Provincial Royal Guard. The swords of the officers, although not regulated and subject to inevitable variations, share a common denominator that makes them easily distinguishable. |
