Guard | All in gilded brass. On the obverse of the hilt, on a background of grooves, the arms of Spain under a royal crown surrounded by laurel. Straight quillons, with a very beautiful design, ending in a classic palm rosette. Trilateral pommel and, at the center of the reverse, the plate of the Grand Cross of the Order of Charles III, in silver, featuring the image of the Immaculate Virgin with the motto Virtuti et merito. |
Blade | Straight, with a small ricasso and two flat surfaces leading to the tip. Sharp on the entire exterior. |
Scabbard | Black leather with gilded throat and tip. |

Description | The Royal and Distinguished Spanish Order of Charles III was established by Royal Decree on September 19, 1771, by King Charles III of Spain. Its motto is Virtuti et merito, awarded to individuals who stand out, especially for their good actions for the benefit of Spain. The image of the Immaculate appears at the center of the plate, with its colors, white and blue, being those used by the Order. |
