Guard With a splendid loop and high-quality craftsmanship, featuring globe-like shapes and incredible braiding. A total of nine globes. Quillons, bridges, side rings, knuckle guard, and loop are made of solid cylindrical-faceted bars. Grip made of wood, covered with various braided and thickness cords.
Blade Straight, with three flat surfaces on each side and a wide fuller in the strong part. Two edges extending to the tip.
Inscription IESUS AIALA. This sword was forged by Jesús Ayala, and it is unknown if this swordsmith was related to the famous Tomás de Ayala, who worked in 1625 in Toledo.

Description Guard similar to number 61 in Norman’s book, used between 1600-1640. The rapier sword, like this one, is called “la rapière” in France.
